About The Role

Pagoda is looking to strengthen our team with a hands-on Director of Finance who can contribute with strong domain expertise and excel in a start-up environment. This is a unique opportunity to support our teams as we continue to build the blockchain operating system and contribute to the growth of the NEAR ecosystem.

Leading a finance team of three people, including accounting, controlling, token, and payment operations, your role has extensive breadth and depth. You’ll be essentially taking over as much of that responsibility as you can handle and as fast as you can learn.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leadership the Finance team ensuring delivery of a compliant and effective function across Pagoda
  • Steward the budget process, including forecasting hiring needs, to ensure teams are positioned to deliver
  • Manage financial and token accounting
  • Implement and manage strategies to reduce risk
  • Oversee financial reporting and provide transparency on business performance
  • Partner with Operations, PeopleOps, Legal, auditors, and tax authorities to ensure high-performing operations of Pagoda
  • Collaborate with the Head of Finance at NEAR Foundation
  • Manage a high-performing finance team
  • Build efficient and scalable finance processes
  • Manage key vendor and contractor relationships

What We're Looking For

  • Exceptional intelligence and breadth of business knowledge
  • 8+ years of experience growing a successful company
  • Strong business judgment, analytical and decision making skills
  • High attention to detail and process orientation
  • Strong financial strategic vision
  • Demonstrated passion for or experience in the blockchain/crypto industry
  • Experience in a rapidly scaling startup environment and the ability to thrive amidst rapid change
  • Strong team player, along with strong business partnering, communication & presentation skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting or related field
  • Authorized to work in the US

We'd Love If You Have

  • Current CPA Certification
  • Exposure or background in FP&A

Compensation

The base salary for this role is $230,000, which represents the salary applicable to US locations only. This does not include bonus, incentives, or benefits.

The actual base pay within the range is dependent upon many factors, including: leveling, relevant skills, and work location. If you are based outside of the US, we there are other geographic considerations that may impact your final compensation. Your recruiter can share more about the compensation and benefits applicable to your preferred location during the hiring process.
