JOB SUMMARY
Strong background in statistics/biostatistics and fluency in at least one of the main statistical analysis software packages available on the market. Experience with MATLAB (or R or Python) is also required. Proficiency with Excel with the ability to perform data analysis, plot graphs and write macros is required. Experience in clinical studies is preferred. Knowledge of deep learning techniques, such as Neural Networks, will be considered as a plus. The position will also require the management of a repository of data/scripts/graphics in a cloud server such as Amazon AWS – a basic understanding of the interface and use of AWS it is not a prerequisite but is a goal the candidate should be willing to pursue soon after being hire.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION

- Designs, analyzes, implements, and reports findings on targeted statistical research studies; provides consultation on experimental design and statistical research approaches, requirements, and scientific standards.
- Works to formalize analysis plans and reporting specifications; advises on the choice of statistical analysis strategies, reliability of measurements and identifiability of models, and interpretation and presentation of statistical results.
- Plans and documents computer data file structure; develops, programs, manages, and maintains complex statistical databases; performs data entry.
- Uses a variety of advanced statistical software, methods, and techniques to gather, analyze, and interpret research data to derive useful information for research data; advises and assists in the development of inferences and conclusions, as appropriate.
- Develops enhancements to statistical software, as appropriate, by programming new techniques; maintains knowledge of current and emerging trends in statistical analysis methodology.
- Provide supervisor with information of daily, weekly, and monthly activities and schedules to keep him/her aware of the progress on each project. Provides timely and accurate monthly report as required. Makes presentations internally as required.
- Perform such additional assignments as immediate manager may direct.

- B.S. in Statistics or similar educational background is required; Master’s degree preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
- Strong analytical communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize projects.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of probability and medical statistics theory.
- Knowledge of MATLAB (or R or Python) statistical programming.
- Knowledge of scientific approach and methodologies.
- Knowledge and understanding of the principles, concepts, methods, and standards of statistical research.
- Ability to apply a range of advanced statistical techniques in support of scientific research studies and/or experiments.
- Ability to process computer data and to format and generate reports.
- Ability to consult with scientific investigators, interpret research requirements, and determine statistical analysis strategies.
- Ability to plan, create, program and manage complex statistical computer databases.
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and draw conclusions from complex statistical information.
- Ability to work in a team environment to design, analyze, and report on research projects.

WORK LOCATION
This Biostatistician will work from our Headquarters in Irvine and is not a remote position.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
The Biostatistician position is 100% office-based, located at our Company Headquarters in Irvine. This position requires sitting for extended periods when facilitating our order-entry processes. Daily meetings with various internal departments require frequent movement across two company floors. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. The physical demands of the position described herein are essential functions of the job and employees must be able to successfully perform these tasks for extended periods.
