Job description

 

We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for an Electrical Systems Engineer within our global engineering team to help support our Home Furniture business.  Our Home Furniture business brings an intense focus on the customer, innovation, world-class manufacturing capabilities, and a global footprint together to create full package solutions for the industry.  We do not make furniture.  We make furniture more comfortable.  We need the best people on our team to support our strategy, and your work will ensure people around the world have a little more comfort in their lives.

 

As an Electrical Systems Engineer, you will lead the design, integration, and testing of electrical components and systems for new product development across our home furnishings brands. This position allows you to grow your expertise across disciplines while working on cutting-edge products. You will collaborate globally with cross functional partners to bring designs from concept to commercialization.

 

So, what will you be doing as an Electrical Systems Engineer?

  • 5+ years of electronics/electrical engineering experience preferred
  • Gather electrical/electronic requirements and define specifications
  • Design analog and digital circuits and systems
  • Lead prototype builds and manage system integration
  • Define and execute validation test plans
  • Document and communicate test results across stakeholders
  • Support production launches and product cost optimizations
  • Research and incorporate new technologies into designs
  • 20% travel domestic and international

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering
  • Proven experience in designing or applying analog and digital circuitry solutions.
  • Proficiency in reading schematics, interpreting component datasheets, and operating essential electrical test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Hands-on experience with Electrical Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools like Altium and/or Cadence.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver comprehensive product solutions in a fast-paced product development environment.
  • Basic programming skills in languages like Python and/or C++, enabling efficient control and automation of electrical test equipment (considered a plus).
  • Strong collaboration and communication abilities, allowing effective interfacing with cross-functional teams comprising hardware and software developers, project managers, and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with global electronics suppliers and supply chain dynamics (preferred).
