Content Area Or Department Brief Description

Work in this area builds capacity to improve the quality of infant and toddler care in local programs, communities, states, Early Head Start programs, and other countries. In California, PITC Certified trainers deliver PITC training and technical assistance on a regional basis. PITC certification deepens understanding of trainers and coaches of how to enhance the professional development of infant and toddler care teachers and family child-care providers through the PITC Philosophy of responsive, relationship-based care, and essential policies.

Position Overview

As a Facilitator for 2024-25 PITC Trainer Institute, this position supports a cohort of approximately 15 PITC participants, from late September-June 2025 in PITC Engagement Certification by:

  • Modeling curiosity and the responsive process to learn from and with the participants.
  • Engaging with participants through asynchronous engagement in activities on the Canvas platform, and virtual one on one or small group meetings.
  • Responding to participants’ reflections and contributions in the Canvas platform and in the Journal tool.
  • Reviewing and providing weekly detailed feedback to Learning Experiences Outlines and Learning Experience Plans, using PITC tools to recognize and make visible contributions that meet expectations, and areas requiring additional elements to demonstrate fidelity to PITC content, adult learning strategies, and tone.
  • Attending and contributing to facilitator meetings to share successes and develop solutions to meet the needs of individuals and the group to provide consistency of the experience.
  • Individualizing support to provide equitable attainment of PITC Participation.

What We’re Looking For

The Program for Infant Toddler Care (PITC) Trainer Institute is looking for a Facilitator to work with a cohort of participants in their comprehensive study of the PITC philosophy, resources, and recommended practices that support high-quality infant and toddler care and adult learning.
