Job description

The Post Secondary Student Trainee will assist the Regional Administrator by providing administrative, program analysis, personnel, and office automation support.


Post Secondary Students are TERM appointments NTE 4 years in the competitive service. Upon successful completion of all program requirements and at the agency's discretion, the student may be eligible for non-competitive conversion to a career/career-conditional appointment. Duties

As a Student Trainee (Administration and Analysis), duties will consist of, but not limited to the following:

  • Uses personal computers with office applications to perform operations or prepare documents and uses on-line resources to obtain information from the Internet.
  • Drafts, proofreads, and edits documents, spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Performs basic evaluation, computations, calculations, and statistical analyses on management data.
  • Attends meetings and takes notes, records minutes, and tracks milestones, and deadlines.
  • Tracks and monitors incoming digital correspondence and telephone inquiries.
  • Monitors supplies for the Agency employees (takes basic supply inventory, receives requests, places orders, distributes supplies, and maintains records).
  • Supports stakeholder engagement event planning (e.g. conducts preliminary research for selection of event location; is responsible for logistical arrangements; obtaining interagency clearances, etc.)
