Your opportunity

Dillon’s Transportation & Facilities group is looking for a Senior Transportation Engineer/Project Manager to join our multidisciplinary team of professionals. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience. 


This position is available at the Winnipeg office with the opportunity for flexible and remote work arrangements to help balance the competing demands of work and personal life.

Responsibilities:

What your day will look like

Design and Project management

  1. Management of transportation engineering team activities and support to project managers/technical staff in the delivery of multidisciplinary projects within Winnipeg, for the City of Winnipeg client. In addition to the City of Winnipeg, the selected individual will also support transportation projects across the province and company
  2. Development of technical expertise on a variety of transportation engineering projects, including functional and preliminary designs, detailed designs and contract administration phases, transportation master plans, and owner’s engineering services.
  3. Liaison with multidisciplinary project teams (including transportation, municipal and structural engineers, transportation systems planners, planners, environmental scientists, technical support staff, etc.)
  4. Development of client relationships and new business opportunities
  5. Contribution to the career development of more junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring.
  6. Contributions to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees
  7. Business travel to other Dillon offices upon request

Business Development

  1. Prepare estimates and project proposals
  2. Contribute to the development of public and private sector client relationships and new business opportunities
  3. Business travel to other Dillon offices upon request

Learning & Development

  1. Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development
  2. Contribute to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring
  3. Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees
Qualifications:
  1. An undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
  2. Registered (or eligible for registration) as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM)
  3. A minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience, preferably with an emphasis on transportation projects within the consulting industry
  4. Proven leadership and business development capabilities
  5. Proven ability as a project manager of multi-disciplinary project teams. Experience with City of Winnipeg transportation/infrastructure projects is desired and would be considered a valuable asset
Experience:
  1. Proven experience and ability as a project manager in functional design, preliminary and detailed design, and contract administration of municipal transportation projects with the City of Winnipeg
  2. Demonstrated abilities in the leadership of multidisciplinary projects and teams
  3. Exceptional abilities in project management
  4. In-depth understanding of business issues associated with consulting engineering and planning
  5. Experience in the geometric design of highways, municipal roads and intersections
  6. Proven skills in public and agency consultation
  7. Exceptional communication (verbal and written) skills are essential
