Summary

Squint is searching for Software Engineers! In this role, you’ll create scalable and efficient backend systems and infrastructure to power our cutting-edge AI and AR platform. You will be responsible for not only making decisions on the technology stack, but also influencing the product roadmap and product design. As a key early employee at Squint, you will help create and grow a world-class engineering culture; we play for the front of the jersey, and we care about our craft. 

Responsibilities

• Contribute across all technical aspects of development at Squint.

• Create scalable architecture, review code, and perform all phases of the development life cycle.

• Collaborate with product management, design, and customers as stakeholders for your work.

• Understand customer use cases and actively apply this knowledge to engineering projects and product decisions.

• Help build a world-class engineering culture, including all of the stages involved in bringing a product from concept or idea through market release and beyond.

• Flexibly contribute to various tasks as needed – we’re a startup!

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.

• 4+ years of experience working as a Software Engineer.

• Experience with one or more of the following areas (or related technologies): 

  • Modern web/backend technologies: React, Typescript, Node, Next, Python

  • Cloud platforms/infrastructure: GCP, AWS, Azure, Docker, Nginx

  • Databases: Relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) or Non-relational (MongoDB, Firestore)

  • Integrations with large-scale enterprise systems like IBM, SAP, Oracle

• Track record of creating scalable, performant, and well-documented software.

• High energy, clarity of communication, curiosity, and empathy.

• Team-oriented, collaborative, and high-ownership mindset.

• Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
