How can you make an impact?

McGraw Hill is looking for a Pricing Director to join its K12 School business team to direct and transform the pricing function within the organization. In close partnership with the K12 business team, this individual will oversee the development of market-based pricing nationally; develop pricing strategies as well as short- and long-range plans for pricing that are consistent with corporate objectives. This individual will leverage experience in the development of pricing strategies and implementation of pricing processes.

This role will report to the K12 Finance Sr. Director and will collaborate with the Sales, Marketing, Products and Finance leaders to develop and implement pricing plans for all products and services that K12 provides. This individual will be a skilled communicator, effective in promoting the value of the organizational and process changes within the pricing function. Change management and communication skills with key stakeholders will be critical to facilitate the fundamental changes necessary for the pricing transformation to occur successfully.

This role works from a home office or one of our MH offices. Travel is required 3-4 times per year for in-person meetings and events. Candidates must reside permanently within the United States to be considered for this role.

What you will be doing:

  • Identifies and develops short-term tactical pricing opportunities and related opportunities in improving pricing process to generate incremental profit dollars.
  • Develops and leads process to benchmark MHK-12's pricing against competition including the need to own, understand and communicate competitive pricing strategies and behaviors.
  • Lead effort to identify a long-term pricing strategy and takes lead on annual pricing strategy and price increases.
  • Oversees the implementation process and reviews customer reaction to pricing structures
  • Identifies opportunities to improve the pricing process through enhanced automation
  • Reviews current pricing processes and recommend/implement solutions resulting in more efficiency with clear timelines and points of ownership
  • Directs the implementation of pricing plans, monitors impact of pricing changes and adjusts plan as needed, and leads internal and external communication pricing
  • Trains sales force on price program changes and serves as a mentor for the organization on effective pricing

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent in business, mathematics, economics or related field and a minimum 8 years of professional experience.
  • Expertise in development of pricing strategies, as well as experience in development and implementation of pricing processes.
  • Broad-based business acumen in sales, marketing, finance or related areas which has developed and sharpened strategic capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects requiring collaboration across teams.
  • Consultative skills, ability to develop and successfully present business case to diverse stakeholders and audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage objectives and budgets.

Preferred Experience:

  • Preferred five years of experience in learning, educational publishing/software, education, or a similar industry Experience in market research is a plus

The pay range for this position is between $120,000-$180,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
