About your team:

The global Database Administration team supports all database operations within Interactive Brokers and its subsidiaries. 

What will be your responsibilities within IBKR: 

We are seeking a seasoned, automation focused Database Developer with prior Oracle DBA experience. Someone who brings hands-on experience with automating everything from database deployments to monitoring key performance indicators.  

What required skills do you need:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience with Perl, Python and shell scripting skills with an eye toward automation.  Ansible experience is a plus.
  • Java experience is a plus.
  • Exposure to Oracle 19c or higher on Linux. 
  • Experience with SQL and PL/SQL
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager, both supporting OEM and developing automation and monitoring processes within OEM.
  • Oracle RAC, Oracle ASM and Oracle Multitenant is a plus.Experience with Oracle patching and database upgrade processes, Grid Infrastructure and RAC patching orchestration is a plus.
  • Experience with Query tuning methodologies.
  • Exposure to supporting Oracle or other DB platforms in AWS RDS and/or EC2, along with Database Virtualization is a plus.
  • Very large database exposure is a plus.
  • Work on projects as assigned and drive them to completion according to the current standards and procedures of the group.
  • Document steps taken and methods utilized in any project.

  • Excellent collaboration and communication (Verbal and written) skills.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced technology environment.
  • Working knowledge of Confluence and Jira.
