Job Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership to a working team responsible for benefits administration of US health and welfare benefit plans including health, dental, vision, group income protection/disability, life assurance/ insurance, employee assistance programs, and time-off programs.
  • Manages benefits support team and offers creative solutions to benefits related issues. Researches and responds to employees’ benefit inquiries and service issues and provides interpretation of eligibility, covered services, and exclusions.
  • Oversees and manages leave of absence programs (e.g. sick, disability, etc.).
  • Manages the benefit enrollment system and programming of benefits including annual open enrollment.
  • Works with external vendors and payroll to ensure efficient and accurate benefits processing.
  • Ensures timely submittal of electronic vendor files. Reviews and correct errors. Conducts weekly/monthly/quarterly audits for ongoing benefits administration.
  • Ensure timely response to employee questions sent to benefits email. Research issues and collaborate across HR and with suppliers to determine course of actions.
  • Develops and documents procedures to streamline processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitors day to day employee issues, identifies trends, and recommends solutions.
  • Assists with employee communications preparations related to benefits administration.
  • May research and draft human resources policies and procedures and may assist with related questions.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent combination of experience and education, plus moderate benefits related experience with experience in benefit program design and implementation. Experience with electronic benefit enrollment systems and related processes. May research and draft human resources policies and procedures and may assist with related questions
  • Thorough knowledge and proper application of benefit laws
  • Professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong MS Office Suite skills
  • Effective presentation, documentation and leadership skills with a team-oriented approach are essential. A flexible, collaborative approach to problem-solving and decision-making is important. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • SPHR/PHR/CEBS/ certification preferred

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $71,820.00 to $139,600.00. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
