Job Description

As a Senior Analyst - Variable Compensation you will be responsible for the preparation, coordination, calculation and documentation of multiple and more complex variable pay programs. You will extract data from various systems and utilizes the data to determine incentive payments. You will be responsible for answering operational related questions and preparation of high-level analytics which are provided to senior executives and in many cases the Compensation Committee.

Location: Open to candidates in the Greater Chicago Area or Greater Atlanta Area as training will be held onsite.

Responsibilities

  • Extract and prepare data from different sources and systems to facilitate complex variable compensation programs.
  • Use prepared data in order to calculate variable compensation payments. Manage data to ensure accuracy and completes the calculations of various types of variable compensation which significantly impact financial accruals for the company.
  • Manage the complex systems used to calculate the variable compensation.
  • Provide analyses and recommendations based on gathered variable compensation data and other pertinent information.
  • Use an in-depth understanding of the programs being administered to recognize and provide feedback on the impact changes to the plans or financial results will have on final payouts.
  • Identify issues and suggests courses of action and makes recommendations for improving processes.
  • Work closely with other corporate and business unit resources to improve standardization.
  • Support and direct implementation of process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Record the necessary month end accruals and reconciliations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree (Business, Finance, Accounting, or Related Field) is required.
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience, specifically with large data sets
  • Should have a strong understand of internal controls and SOX requirements developed through 2-3 years experience working in a public organization
  • 2+ years experience using large information and accounting systems
  • Strong overall business skills and common sense approach to issues.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with ability to translate complex analytical data into easily understandable format.
  • Strong teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Applications, specifically with Excel and Access.
  • Report writing experience is preferred.
  • Ability to travel 0-25% of the time

Compensation Details: $71,400 - $92,820

The compensation amount is not guaranteed. This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position, however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, experience and qualifications.
