Job description

Our Team:

Vista is the go-to partner for millions of small businesses who need to promote themselves effectively in the modern age.

With tools that empower brands to create their unique identity and expert design support when they need inspiration, we provide a range of digital and print services at every stage of their journey.

To help customers bring their visions to life, we need UX professionals skilled at crafting the right features and experiences - that’s where you come in.

What You Will Do:
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team of designers, developers, and product managers to grow the Design System.
  • Be deeply involved at every stage of the design and development process—from discovery through detailed design, execution, and iteration.
  • Maintain, improve, and evolve the components and tokens of the system based on the needs of the business, product teams, and the health of the Design System itself.
  • Iterate on the content and usability of the Design Systems documentation site and Figma UI library to foster a shared language between the designer and developer users.
  • Collaborate with the brand team to ensure the visual design of the system aligns with the brand guidelines.
  • Support and educate design and developer users on how to properly use the Design System.
  • Actively participate in design critiques, office hours, and other team rituals.
Your Qualifications:

At Vista, we are striving to hire individuals that add new ideas and perspectives to our teams and enhance our culture. No matter your background or work experience, we strongly encourage you to apply—even if you feel that you don’t meet the exact requirements or have the same qualifications. You might be a great candidate for this or other opportunities.

  • 3+ years of experience building, contributing to, and shipping digital products and design systems, preferably in the B2C e-commerce space.
  • Systems level thinking: You understand how design decisions cascade and impact development by thinking beyond the surface-level impacts of a solution.
  • Pattern recognition: You can find opportunities for consolidation and alignment in aspects of the system such as components, props, patterns, and processes.
  • Scalable attitude: You design solutions that work in a large variety of situations and meet a wide range of needs.
  • Code fluent: You are familiar with front-end technology such as HTML, CSS, React, enabling you to collaborate with developer peers and navigate implementation constraints.
  • Visual Design: You are highly skilled with type, hierarchy, color, composition, contrast, and other graphic design fundamentals.
  • User Interface Design: You can design accessible, intuitive components with thoughtfully crafted variants and API.
  • User Experience Design: You do the right amount of research to collect the insights needed to inspire design decisions. You advocate for solutions that benefit our users while also meeting the business needs.
  • Growth mindset: You are passionate about design trends, tools, processes, and methodologies, and willing to learn and share new insights with the team.
  • Effective: You are a problem solver, skilled at prioritizing tasks and working efficiently alone or collaboratively.
  • Flexible: You have experience working with globally distributed teams, and/or in highly matrixed organizations.
  • Communication: You can clearly articulate design decisions and present design concepts and solutions to a variety of audiences.
