Job Summary

The Red Hat Ecosystem Engineering team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join us. In this role, you will be part of one of the leading continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment/delivery (CD) teams that provide services for Red Hat's software development teams. You’ll improve, maintain, and operate a CI lab for 5G Telco partners. You'll interact with other CI and CD, development, and Quality Assurance (QA) teams and work with today's latest technologies like Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, Python, Golang, and Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform.

What You Will Do

  • Develop, operate, and maintain our own CI and CD systems for the use of the product development teams.
  • Work with Red Hat's partners to build multi-company CI and CD for 5G Telco use cases.
  • Participate in the development of Red Hat's productization and release systems.
  • Submit code changes with new features or bug fixes and review patches from other members.
  • Work with other development and Quality Engineering (QE) teams to ensure that the CI and CD services cover all the required needs.

What You Will Bring

  • At least a user experience with containers and operators in Kubernetes/OpenShift.
  • Experience writing Ansible playbooks.
  • Experience developing software in Python, Golang, or a similar language.
  • Experience working & administering Linux systems.
  • Ability to give and receive code reviews from other developers and perform code reviews for others using code review systems like GitHub, GitLab, or Gerrit.
  • Ability to read and understand code written in multiple programming languages, find and fix bugs, and implement new features.
  • Record of working in distributed teams.

Nice To Have Skills

  • Degree in computer science or software engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Network debugging (switches, routers, gateways…).
  • Exposure to fast data path technologies (SR-IOV, DPDK…).
  • Work with partners under confidentiality constraints.
