Title: Senior Product Manager, New Product Development 

Location: Remote Canada

Reports To: Director of New Product Development

The Role: 

 

J.D. Power is seeking a proven Senior Product Manager to join our New Product Development team. In this role, you will drive the full product lifecycle for a varied portfolio of products and services, from early-stage R&D and product discovery to defining product strategy and bringing products to market. You will be responsible for leading the product development process, go-to-market execution, and ongoing product management across various stages of the product life cycle.

As a strategic leader, you will gather critical business insights, capture and collect user feedback, and facilitate client workshops, interviews, and business immersion sessions to shape product concepts, drive feature enhancements, and streamline processes. You will distill complex product requirements into executable increments, prioritize the product backlog, and systematically craft epics, user stories, and define acceptance criteria. Acting as the primary advocate for your products, you will work closely with a cross-functional set of teams guiding product design, development, and delivery from concept to execution.

 

The Impact You Will Have in This Role: 

  • The Sr. Product Manager will bring discipline and rigor to the NPD process with cross functional leadership, helping bring some of our most strategic initiatives to life & join an established team at the center of J.D. Powers digital transformation. 
    This person will also help drive products innovation leveraging bleeding edge technology capabilities that include Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning and Augmented Analytics.
    Additionally, this person will create enduring user-centric B2B products that will be used by the world's most important companies.

What You'll Be Doing in This Role: 

  • Lead product development lifecycle from concept to delivery in an agile, fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate with clients, subject matter experts  as well internal and external users to gather feedback and translate needs into actionable product features.
  • Orchestrate and lead client workshops, interviews, and user research to ensure customer-focused solutions.
  • Prioritize product backlogs, defining epics, clear and actionable user stories with acceptance criteria and all necessary artifacts.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer and liase with cross-functional teams, advocating for user needs while driving towards strategic objectives.
  • Maintain tight coordination and collaborate with product design, engineering and data science teams to ensure rapid iteration and delivery.
  • Drive continuous product improvements through A/B testing, feedback loops, and data-driven insights using best of breed analytics and product management tools.
  • Manage go-to-market strategy and launch planning new products, while staying focused on serving the needs of existing in market products.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, sales and customer success teams to align on product roadmaps, feature enhancements and new offerings that meet customer expectations.
  • Facilitate decision-making and be ready to quickly adapt to changes in customer or market demands.
  • Ensure alignment between business objectives and customer satisfaction with a bias towards user-centric design to achieve optimal product impact.
  • Use agile methodologies to deliver solutions for high-impact initiatives on time within scope and budget that are not only innovative but products that leverage emerging technologies and help our clients achieve their business objectives and goals.

Qualifications of this Role: 

  • 5-10 years of experience in a related field
    Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Media and or Arts
    Master’s degree in related studies preferred but not required
