Job Description

The Research Data Scientist will drive understanding, evaluation, and adoption of AI innovations relevant to ATPCO's data products and solutions. This role will provide strategic guidance, research, and domain expertise to shape ATPCO's AI strategy and airline industry engagement.

Responsibilities

· Advise product teams on the models and tools our airline customers' will need to power their AI-driven dynamic offer creation, including airfare, pricing, ancillary pricing, and product selection.

· Provide data science leadership in product-led engagements with airlines and tech vendors to identify customers’ problems that can be solved by models trained on ATPCO data

· Lead in evaluation and design of potential AI-based ATPCO products, including around customer segmentation and impacts of external shocks (e.g., political, environmental, economic) on airline offer creation

· Advise data engineers on AI tools to create efficiency in data ingestion and synthetic data creation

· Collaborate with data engineering and infrastructure teams on how to optimize data for AI/ML

· Monitor and research AI innovations, techniques, and use cases relevant to airline industry and ATPCO product portfolio

· Promote AI adoption by presenting at industry events and creating content (or supporting presentations and created content)

Requirements

  • PhD / MA in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math or closely-related field with specialization in AI/ML, or 10+ years professional experience
  • 3+ years experience developing AI/ML solutions and prototypes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to distill complex topics
  • Self-directed and curious, able to explore innovations on the frontier of AI.
