Job description

Our client, a global leader in the cryptocurrency exchange industry, is seeking a highly motivated Country Manager for South Africa. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in business development, have extensive experience in the cryptocurrency sector, and bring a proven track record in driving growth and market penetration. This role requires an individual who can operate independently, lead a team, and cultivate key partnerships to establish Bitget as a top player in the South African market.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Country Manager or similar role, with a successful track record in business development and team leadership.
  • Strong expertise in cryptocurrency markets, blockchain technology, and digital assets.
  • Established network within the South African cryptocurrency and financial services ecosystem.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple responsibilities, and make high-stakes decisions.
  • Mandarin proficiency is a strong advantage, but not mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of the regulatory environment in South Africa as it relates to cryptocurrency and financial services.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in a remote role with a global team structure.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a market-entry and growth strategy for our client in South Africa, aligning with global business objectives.
  • Lead and mentor the South African Business Development team to drive local growth and build a strong market presence.
  • Identify and secure strategic partnerships with local stakeholders, exchanges, financial institutions, and crypto-related businesses.
  • Oversee local marketing efforts, brand positioning, and customer acquisition strategies to increase user base and engagement.
  • Stay updated on local cryptocurrency regulations and ensure our clients compliance with South African legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide insights and feedback to global teams to align local operations with our client’s international strategy.
