About This Role
The Procurement Agent II’s role is key to driving the success of our Procurement team’s goals, projects, and initiatives. In this position, you’ll be at the heart of operations, ensuring our department runs smoothly and efficiently every day. You’ll handle the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of procurement as well as resolve high-priority tasks while directly supporting the team’s mission to improve and optimize procurement processes.  If being a core contributor to the success of a fast-growing company sounds exciting, then this may be the role for you! 
 
On a Given Day, Your Work Might Include
  • Collaborate with the Design and Project Management team to define design selections, project scope, and ensure that bid packages contain the detailed specifications and timelines required for accurate quoting. 
  • Analyze subcontractor and vendor bids verifying completeness and accuracy against project specifications. 
  • Release request for quotes (RFQ’s) to suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors. 
  • Prepare and execute project job orders, awarding work to competitive and unit cost subcontractors and vendors. 
  • Manage a comprehensive, up to date, contact list of vendors and subcontractors tracking performance, compliance, contracts, and communications. 
  • Generate and analyze subcontractor leads to determine suitability and potential partnership opportunities.  
  • Oversee subcontractor, vendor, and supplier schedules on a weekly basis. 
  • Upload and maintain unit cost agreements on a quarterly basis. 
  • Acquire and manage rebates for commodity items ensuring accurate cost capture and that rebates are properly recorded. 
  • Maintains and manages office inventory (field equipment, safety gear/equipment, other tools as needed for project management). 
  • Communicate professionally building and maintaining strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Performs site visits in the field as needed, required, or requested. 
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned. 
  • Models and reinforces actions and behaviors consistent with the MN Custom Homes’ values, mission, and culture. 
What You’ll Need to Succeed 
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred (business, construction, supply chain, civil/structural engineering).  High school diploma required. 
  • 3+ years of experience within procurement, residential construction, or other applicable fields. 
  • Strong analytical skills with a proven background in identifying potential roadblocks and uncovering insights through the analysis of numbers and data. 
  • Proven experience in effective collaboration with a demonstrated service-oriented mindset and strong customer centric focus. 
  • Experienced in MS Office Suite, especially Excel, and Bluebeam.  Salesforce preferred. 
  • Construction and/or residential construction experience preferred. 
  • Ability to analyze tasks and identify potential roadblocks, proactively taking the necessary steps to ensure that processes run efficiently. 
  • Passion for uncovering insights and telling stories through the analysis of numbers and data. 
  • Proficient in interpreting architectural and/or engineering drawings to inform procurement decisions. 
  • Experienced in creating budgets, performing material-takeoffs, and understanding contract structure. 
  • Skilled in managing multiple demands, adapting style and approach to suit rapidly changing tasks, shifting priorities, competing demands, and transitions into new assignments. 
  • Embraces a growth mindset actively pursuing continuous development opportunities with a robust willingness to learn and adapt. 
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Advanced computer skills with expertise in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, and proficiency in Bluebeam. 
  • Salesforce experience preferred. 
Physical Requirements 
  • This position requires frequent use of a computer, including keyboard functions and visual acuity of 20 inches or fewer on a daily basis 
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer  
  • Must be able to lift up to 20lbs on occasion with or without accommodation 
Travel & Vehicle Requirements 
  • Infrequent travel on an ad hoc basis in a 5-mile radius of Bellevue & Kirkland

Hours & Compensation   
This is a full-time position paying $31.51/hr – $44.12/hr. The hourly range represents the anticipated low and high end of the hourly range for this position. Individual placement within a salary range will vary based upon factors including but not limited to candidate experience, knowledge, individual skills, and organizational performance.
