Overview:
The outsourced accounting not-for-profit manager is responsible for applying their technical skills, organizing and managing client assignments while meeting client's expectations. This professional will be responsible for multiple client engagements at any one time and will perform duties such as controller services which includes being responsible for the full general ledger and strategic business consulting. This professional will perform accounting software implementations, assist clients with developing and maintaining internal procedures/processes. This role is also responsible for overseeing multiple team members and reviewing work on related jobs and being responsible for the overall client engagement.
You Will:
- Gain comprehensive understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives and utilize that knowledge on engagements.
- Oversee and review our professional team in preparing workpapers, financial statements (GAAP basis – non-disclosure) and preparing engagement correspondence.
- Be comfortable researching and understanding GAAP and how to implement to client specific situations.
- Develop and maintain a great working relationship with clients to enhance customer satisfaction and work with client management and staff at all levels to perform outsourced accounting.
- Lead team members to ensure we complete project components and assignment tasks.
- Perform duties at a controller level for clients on an on-going basis.
- Maintains expertise of accounting software, trends, technology to be able to train internal team and external clients
- Develop and communicate recommendations for business and process improvements.
- Actively participate in meetings as a key member of the outsourced accounting team.
- Assist principals and senior management on proposals and business development calls.
- Supervise, train, and mentor team members on outsourced accounting and assess performance of staff for engagement reviews.
- Assists with client billing, collections, fee negotiations and discussions.
You Have:
- CPA license preferred.
- Minimum BA/BS degree in Accounting
- Minimum 7 years relevant experience, public accounting experience preferred.
- Minimum 3 years not-for-profit specific experience.
- Experience with grant reporting requirements and compliance preferred.
- Individuals at this level normally have an excellent understanding of accounting concepts and business acumen.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment
- Proficient in accounting softwares. Experience with Intacct, preferred.

Compensation Details:
The base salary range targeted for this role is $95,000/yr - 125,000/yr. This salary range represents BerryDunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications in excess of the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
