Job description

[This role is fully remote;  we put a location because some job boards require it.]
The Role

Kasa is building a global accommodations brand unlike any other. We took the best that hotels and short-term rentals had to offer and created a new class of hospitality that is affordable, trustworthy, and conveniently located. In this fast-paced role as Real Estate Analyst you will be instrumental in helping Kasa continue to expand its footprint in the United States and beyond. In this position, you will be tasked with underwriting new real estate opportunities with a focus on hospitality partnerships and acquisitions, creating pitch deck materials, and providing leverage to help support the real estate growth team with new opportunities within hospitality and multifamily assets. This is a rare opportunity to join a groundbreaking team that directly impacts the company’s growth and footprint. We are recruiting for a remote position, with the understanding that you will periodically travel for meetings to our New York HQ.

As a Real Estate Analyst, you will report to the Senior Director, Real Estate and support the deal team. You will have the opportunity to work with our CEO, Legal and Finance teams, and other cross-functional stakeholders. We’re looking for a critical addition to our Real Estate team who can bring their talent and hunger to the cutting edge of the industry. We hope you are excited about the challenge!

About the Team

The mission of the Real Estate Growth team is to unlock portfolio-wide partnerships to fuel our growth, create tremendous value for property owners through our flexible enterprise solutions, and prioritize properties that are ideal for our operations.

The Real Estate Analyst is in our Real Estate Growth department. Members of the team have diverse backgrounds in real estate, private equity, and operations. You will get to work alongside former leaders at KKR, AMLI, Apollo, Chartres Lodging, Walton Street Capital, Rockpoint Group, and Airbnb. Everyone joined Kasa because they are passionate about building a platform that delivers value to property owners and serves guests seeking trustworthy, well-priced accommodations in great locations.

Day in the Life of a Kasa Real Estate Analyst

In this role, every day can be different depending on the business needs. Much of your time will be spent underwriting prospective deals, researching new markets, and drafting term sheets. We will count on you to help write internal deal memorandums, assemble pitch decks, and provide leverage to the team throughout each stage of the deal pipeline.

We're a collaborative team and company, so you will get to work cross-functionally with finance, legal, and operations to push deals through to closing. Regularly, you will serve as a liaison between external brokers and internal senior leadership and use your knowledge to create and optimize pitch decks and RFP materials.

This is a tremendous opportunity to accelerate your deal experience while building strong relationships within the industry. We are looking for someone with a keen interest in real estate who is hungry to hit the ground running.

Experience
  • 1-2 years experience in real estate acquisitions, management or brokerage, with priority given to candidates with a hospitality underwriting background
  • Experience underwriting and performing due diligence for real estate assets
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You are able to engage professionally with key decision-makers
  • Your attention to detail is superior to most
  • You have superior Excel skills and are able to build complex models easily
  • You’re well-organized and a strong multi-tasker
  • You're highly motivated and able to maintain efficiency while working independently
  • You're scrappy and resourceful in sourcing information
  • You’re a team player who appreciates direct and immediate feedback from your colleagues
Plus if...
  • You've worked in the hospitality, multifamily or private equity industries
In one year, you will succeed at Kasa by having:
  • Underwritten management and acquisition deals across the U.S.
