Director, Apheresis

Responsible for growth and support of Apheresis service line within DaVita’s Hospital Services Group (HSG); develop plans to achieve DaVita’s objectives related to revenue, EBITDA, presence, etc.​

Role Description:​ 

  • Ownership: Responsible for growth and support of Apheresis service line within DaVita’s Hospital Services Group; develop plans to achieve DaVita’s objectives related to revenue, EBITDA, presence, etc.​

  • Expertise: Supports business development and clinical teammates in customer conversations as an apheresis service line expert ​

  • Collaboration: Partners with outside vendors, DaVita’s Corporate Development, field teammates, and DaVita’s Hospital Services Group team to identify opportunities to serve new customers or add therapies to current customers​ ​

  • Innovation: Monitors new therapy developments (e.g., CAR-T) and existing therapy innovation (e.g., gene and cell therapy use cases), and develops new messaging and communication in partnership with DaVita’s Hospital Services Group, Clinical Education

  • Financial strategy: Works directly with clinical leaders and DaVita’s Hospital Services Group on apheresis Pro Formas and pricing strategies ​ ​

  • Implementation: Works with DaVita’s Hospital Services Group and field teams to standardize go-live processes and approve program starts ​

  • Regulatory: Maintains awareness of regulations pertaining to apheresis and cell collection and ensures compliance in program development ​ 

Key qualifications:​ 

  • Apheresis Experience: Significant apheresis experience with clinical understanding of apheresis therapy types and clinical indications. Has strong understand of gene and cell therapy trends and how apheresis market is changing. Clinical background preferred, but not required. Knowledge of FACT accreditation preferred ​

  • Strategy & Planning: Demonstrated experience analyzing markets, partners, and competitors to develop growth strategies and plans. Collaborates closely with operational and strategic stakeholders to prioritize opportunities​ ​

  • Relationship Management: Passion for building trusted-advisor relationships with partners to create tangible results. Genuine interest in bringing DaVita’s apheresis service line to more patients by aligning DaVita growth strategies with partner strategic objectives. Partners may include hospital CFOs, CEOs, CNOs, as well as nephrologists, oncologists, hematologists, dermatologists, and other clinical specialty leadership​ ​

  • Communications: Excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities; executive presence to clearly communicate compelling messages to senior leaders and business partners. High level of daily communication with peers and junior teammates ​

  • Bachelors Degree required, Masters Degree Preferred

An ideal candidate is a strategic business leader with experience growing product lines and expertise in apheresis market trends. ​ Strong candidates could have experience working for an existing apheresis program for an AMC or system, working for a machine manufacturer (e.g., Terumo, or working for an association or accreditation agency (e.g., FACT).

Salary/ Wage Range

$100,100.00 - $147,000.00 / year

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
