Volunteers of America (VOA) is a faith-based, nationwide nonprofit organization dedicated to helping those in need rebuild their lives and reach their full potential. VOA is seeking a Human Resources Recruiting Intern to work closely with the Talent Acquisition Partner and Director of Human Resources. The selected candidate will provide day-to-day support to ongoing projects and initiatives, perform phone screens, source for and disposition prospective candidates, manage recruitment relationships with hiring managers and more. The ideal candidate must excel in written and verbal communications, be a self-starter, work well within a team as well as being able to work independently and manage multiple assignments at a time.
This position extends the opportunity for part-time hours (up to 29 hours per week)
This position has the capacity for On-Site, Hybrid or Remote Work Schedules
The internship is unpaid, however, a stipend is provided
Primary Responsibilities:
- Reviewing prospective candidate resumes and application forms to identify suitable candidates to submit to the Talent Acquisition Partner
- Posting and removing job advertisements to job boards and social media platforms for VOA
- Assisting in starting new recruitment relationships with various organizations and institutions to increase employee engagement with VOA
- Partake in team meetings with the human resources team; brainstorm and share ideas, collaborate on projects and other duties as required
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong verbal skills pertaining to phone interviews and candidate sourcing
- Strong written and organizational skills pertaining to drafting documents, team and organizational correspondence and professional feedback (e.g. screen notes)
- Strong administration skills pertaining to time and project management
- The ideal candidate would also have experience sourcing, candidate targeting and recruiting potential employees for VOA
- Candidates must have the ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Office Suite Skills
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and perform effectively under pressure
- Proficiency in the use of social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram)

Physical Capabilities:
- Lifting: Requires lifting materials up to 10 lbs.
- Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods
