About the role

The team at Laivly is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Principal Software Engineer to join our innovative team. You will play a critical role in designing, developing, and delivering cutting-edge solutions while mentoring and inspiring a team of talented engineers. You bring expertise across multiple programming languages, including .NET, Node.js, Python, and experience in generative AI. You excel at solving complex challenges with creativity and minimal direction, demonstrating a passion for learning and pushing the boundaries of technology.

As Principal Software Developer, you will…

• Architect and Develop Solutions: Design, implement, and optimize software solutions using modern frameworks and technologies, including .NET, Node.js, Python, and generative AI platforms.
• Innovative Problem Solving: Tackle complex engineering challenges with creative approaches, leveraging your expertise and curiosity to deliver effective solutions independently.
• Mentorship and Leadership: Guide and mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering their technical growth and contributing to a culture of collaboration and innovation.
• Stay Ahead of the Curve: Continuously learn and integrate new technologies, frameworks, and methodologies to keep our solutions at the forefront of the industry.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.
• Code Quality and Best Practices: Uphold high standards in code quality, testing, and documentation to ensure maintainability and scalability.

As Principal Software Developer, you have…

• Minimum 5 years proven experience in software development with deep expertise in .NET, Node.js, and Python.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with generative AI tools, frameworks, and applications.
• Proficiency in a variety of programming paradigms and languages (e.g., Java, Go, or others is a plus).
• Ability to independently solve challenging problems with limited guidance.
• Demonstrated capability to mentor and lead other engineers, creating an inclusive and empowering team environment.
• Strong understanding of system architecture, microservices, and cloud-based technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Familiarity with modern development practices such as CI/CD, Agile, and DevOps principles.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a range of audiences.

• 2 or more years in a fast paced start-up environment. 
• Experience in AI/ML applications, including natural language processing and deep learning.
• Familiarity with front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js).
• Contributions to open-source projects or a portfolio showcasing innovative projects.
