Job Summary:
The Senior Technical Service and Training Manager is responsible for the complete training process of all new hires, which includes creating the plan, coordinating the plan and executing the plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be involved in the hiring process of new field engineers and take responsibility of complete training process of all new hires which includes creating, coordinating, and executing the plan.
- Work closely with the Regional Technical Support Managers to ensure new hires are fully trained and getting them released to the field and ensure Technical Managers are trained on new products to support client and FSE Technical needs.
- Create process for ongoing internal training for existing field engineers to create consistencies across the organization and effectively implement solutions where there are deficiencies
- Recognize areas for improvement and work process within the technical team (ie suggests alternative technical solutions to meet client/field requirements), coordinate internal training for new products, coordinate pertinent ECO’s and changes into the field.
- Create new training solutions and offerings for both internal and external use by using new ideas such as video, webinars and/or podcasts.
- Work closely with the Director of Client Service to ensure the overall success of the Aftermarket Department.
Minimum Qualifications:
Strong technical knowledge of UPS’s, inverters, and battery chargers.
Strong preference for industrial and/or nuclear applications experience, previous experience testing, installing, and maintaining AC/DC power systems and large stationary batteries.
Requires an Bachelor’s degree in Electronics / Electrical Engineering Technology or military equivalence with a minimum of 5 years UPS field experience and technical training.
Desired Qualifications:
- Must be willing to travel and able to work autonomously with minimal supervision. Limited international travel may be required.
- Able to lead classroom presentations and laboratory exercises in a professional manner to engineers, technicians and supervisors to meet their needs.
- Need to multitask and be capable of managing complex projects.
- Must have effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Strong Power electronics and application skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
