Job Summary

The UI Designer will work as a liaison between stakeholders and the development team to elicit, analyze, document, communicate and validate requirements.  Gathering and evaluating user requirements, in collaboration with product owners and developers. Illustrating design ideas, using storyboards, process flows, and sitemaps. Designing graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs, and widgets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with developers, end-users and stakeholders
  • Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows, and sitemaps
  • Use verbal communication skills to give presentations, interact with internal clients, and collaborate with the development team.
  • Design graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs, and widgets. 
  • Use design skills and various design programs, such as the Adobe Creative Suite, to create visually pleasing graphic designs for web applications and pages. 
  • Write code using multiple web development languages, primarily HTML, Flash, CSS, and Java Script. 
  • Build page navigation buttons and search fields.
  • Test and analyze web applications and user data, which requires strong analytical skills
  • Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look
  • Create original graphic designs (e.g. images, sketches, and tables)
  • Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)
  • Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback
  • Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors, and images
Area of expertise (Skills)

1.1 to 3 years of experience.
2. Experience with SDLC, Agile, and waterfall methodologies. 
3. Demonstrated ability to perform analysis, formulated conclusions, and recommend action.
4. Demonstrates strong work ethic with an emphasis on team commitment, showing respect for others, acknowledge and build on others’ ideas, and support group decisions.
5. Proven ability to meet project deliverables and tight deadlines.
6. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
7. Experience working in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and collaborative environment.
8. Excellent listening, oral, and written communication skills.
9. Proven work experience in a UI/UX Designer or similar role
10. Knowledge of Angular and Python, and familiarity with various COTs applications (SAP and others).
11. Knowledge of wireframe tools (e.g. Wireframe.cc and InVision)
12. Up-to-date knowledge of design software like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
13. Team spirit; strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders
14. Good time-management skills
15. BSc in Design, Computer Science or relevant field
