Under the direction of the Reconciliation Manager, the Reconciliation Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled within QMC’s billing system. This role involves working closely with internal teams and external clients or vendors to identify and resolve discrepancies, investigate issues, and provide insights to management for decision-making. This role is essential for maintaining the financial health of the company by ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded, and any discrepancies are promptly addressed.

Requirements

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Compare financial records from different sources to identify discrepancies.
  • Investigate the causes of the discrepancies.
  • Take action to resolve any outstanding issues that cause discrepancies.
  • Communicate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
  • Develop and implement tools to streamline reconciliation processes.
  • Provide support to other departments on reconciliation-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of all reconciliation activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a reconciliation-focused role.
  • 1-2 years of basic accounting principles and medical billing experience preferred but not required

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Must be able to type minimum of 35 wpm  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong Attention to detail
  • Customer service oriented 
  • Time management and the ability to multitask are essential
  • Organizational skills
  • 10-key 8k per hour 
  • Balancing of accounts/payments. 
  • Intermediate Math Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.
  • Must display sufficient written and oral communication skills
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Other Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all QMC HIPAA privacy policies and procedures. This includes always maintaining the confidentiality and security of sensitive patient information.
  • Ensures consistent adherence to company attendance policies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
