The Opportunity
The Community team drives community engagement and relationship building, advocates for customers within Adobe, and drives thought leadership, engagement, and grassroots marketing programs to support our product categories. We partner with a broad set of organizations, including Global Marketing, Integrated Marketing, Product Marketing, Product Management, Product Release & Program Management, Go to Market, and Engagement & Retention.
The Design Community Engagement Specialist will collaborate with other teams, including Community Strategy, Community Content and Community Evangelism, and teams across the company, such as product and marketing teams, to ensure Adobe is an active and visible participant in online communities and conversations. This role will build and support community advocacy, participate in community discussions, and engage with external groups and platforms across social media, Reddit, private forums, Discord, and key community leaders.
The ideal candidate is passionate about design and communities, is a relationship builder, and has proven experience interacting and engaging with the photography community.
What you'll do
Actively engage online representing Adobe’s viewpoints and your expertise by sharing your knowledge, passion, and experience with modern design workflows.
Ensure Adobe is present and showing up authentically in online conversations and set the tone for Adobe's online community interactions.
Identify where community conversations are occurring, establish relationships, and participate.
Monitor community conversations and share within Adobe.
Support, develop and encourage community advocacy with a focus on building trust and loyalty among users in our key online communities.
Build and maintain relationships across key community forums and individuals to drive community discussion and engagement.
Establish yourself as a creative leader through your work, participation in industry topics and conversations, and building and fostering relationships within the community of users working in collaborative workflows.
Engage daily with communities around graphic design wherever they are (Reddit, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Discord, private forums, etc.) in two-way conversations representing Adobe.
Be active and visible within the community, build long-term relationships and trust, and demonstrate that knowledge and understanding of the users to help Adobe internally.
Establish relationships with leaders in the identified communities.
Answer questions and engage in discussion about Adobe products and policies.
Enable conversations, build content, and speak about design tools to address specific audience needs and encourage that community.
Understand the competitive landscape and share insights within Adobe on an ongoing basis.
Coordinate with other community, product, marketing, and campaign teams to develop mini-engagements and activities for the community (i.e. AMAs with the product team on Reddit or community activities and discussions via live streams, etc.)
Work closely with the broader community, evangelism, and product teams to provide insight and feedback from the community to help drive product development direction.
What you'll need to succeed
BA/BS preferred OR 6+ years of experience in online and community engagement OR equivalent practical experience.
Strong graphic design background and portfolio.
Existing online and community presence with a proven track record of interactions with the community.
Strong voice and influence in the community, with multiple audiences from traditional to the next generation of designers.
Strong written communication skills across media types (written, video, live stream, etc.) and ability to navigate and handle sensitive and nuanced conversations online.
Validated ability to clearly and calmly communicate in heated and sensitive discussions.
Extensive understanding of online community dynamics and standard processes, with a tried history of successfully building, encouraging, and nurturing large-scale communities.
Deep knowledge of Adobe’s Design offerings (including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop).
Familiarity with discussions and concerns around Generative AI within the industry.
Familiarity with the major Social Media platforms and a consistent track record to interact with an audience at scale are vital.
Knowledge of and empathy with your core audience based on your experience is required.
Engaging and dynamic human interaction skills are required.
Know existing and emerging photography tools, including contending and complementary technology companies and products.
Excellent teammate and self-starter.
Show the ability to "be responsible for your business" as independently as possible.
Capable of working collaboratively in a team and prioritizing multiple tasks and goals simultaneously.
Strong organizational skills, in addition to excellent time management skills
Good communicator across multiple teams and regions; comfortable interacting with senior executives and product marketing/product managers.
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $131,600 -- $250,200 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
