Requirements:
The Security Solutions Engineer - Remote will be responsible for analyzing security project specifications, driving customer SOW, discussions, and other documentation to prepare time, cost and labor estimates for national multi-site deployments, single site buildouts and maintenance programs. The Solutions Engineer will be responsible for providing the best possible solution that fits the customer needs and will be the product expert for all technical questions.
PRIMARY DUTIES include but not limited to:
- Engage with the sales team as the product expert and as an integral part of the sales process.
- Fluidly discuss IP and Analog Video, Access Card and Security Management, control and storage systems and services with the sales team and customers who have a wide range of knowledge and experience.
- Develop and engineer assigned customer’s scopes of work by coordinating with Sales.
- Create comprehensive scopes of work that clearly illustrate the proposed project with the customer and installer being the target audience.
- Assist with internal and external meetings and participate in the respective project kick-off meetings for assigned work.
- Review data to determine material and labor requirements for assigned projects; often related to but not limited to Video, Access card and Security services.
- Develop Bill of Materials for assigned projects: work with internal purchasing department and manufacturers for lowest cost pricing, compute cost factors and prepare estimates.
- Consult with assigned internal customers, vendors, sales or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues for assigned customer projects.
- Assist Operations personnel with understanding agreements and bid figures for assigned projects.
- Act as the subject matter expert in a technical capacity for assigned projects.
- Own and manage assigned customer accounts understanding customer-specific expectations.
- Manage multiple tasks related to assigned customer with a sense of urgency and in a timely manner with accuracy.
COMPETENCIES:
- Understanding of structured cabling and standards including best practices thereof.
- Intermediate to advanced level of experience using Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with one or more of the following: Hanwha, Axis, Genetic, Brivo, Eagle Eye, March Networks, DMP, Open Path, AVA and Avigilon, and/or structured cabling.
- Preference given to individuals with certifications in Hanwha, Axis, Genetec, Brivo, Eagle Eye, March Networks, DMP, Open Path, Ava and Avigilon.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 2+ years of pre-sales, customer facing, engineering experience
- 5 years’ experience in design and estimating Video Surveillance, Access Control and Intrusion Detection systems.
- Experience in the industry or related experience working with large-scale projects or national deployments.
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills including formatting and formula creation.
- Working knowledge of IP Networking and Infrastructure Cabling.
- Must have self-discipline as well as a dedicated workspace free from distraction.
