POSITION SUMMARY: The Instrumentation & Controls Engineering organization is responsible for design engineering of safety related and non-safety related digital instrumentation and control (I&C) systems. Additionally, oversees and coordinates workflows and schedules with designated subcontractors. Possesses in-depth knowledge of functional disciplines and their practical application and has detailed knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations. Responsible for making technical decisions regarding I&C system design and application to ensure compliance with NRC regulatory criteria.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Applies high level engineering principles, techniques and practices in the preparation and/or review of I&C System design work products such as, one-line diagrams, logic diagrams, system and equipment requirement specifications, system design documents, engineering studies, engineering calculations, engineering reports, hazard analyses, and Inspections, Tests, and Analysis Acceptance Criteria (ITAAC).
- Understands and applies a rigorous systems engineering process to design and development activities related to software and hardware engineering.
- Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of the engineering work. Supports preparation of work scope and schedule for assignments.
- Compile functional and design requirements into component and system design with consideration for system interfaces, manufacturability, serviceability and in-service inspection.
- Interprets scope and project requirements and develops design alternatives. Plans, organizes, and performs complex assignments in a team environment.
- Applies experience in the design, testing and installation of process control and automation systems.
- Provides oversight and direction to key suppliers of I&C systems and components. Also, coordinates design interfaces with other disciplines and partners associated with the I&C systems.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:
- Education: A minimum of a B.S. degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering or a technically related discipline from an accredited university is required. An advanced degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of full-time, progressively responsible experience in electrical or I&C design, analysis, or engineering is required. Additional required skills and/or experience include:
- Commercial or naval nuclear power, in a design and/or systems engineering organization.
- Experience in the design and installation of digital safety protection systems as well as development of testing and installation procedures for this type of equipment for commercial nuclear plants.
- Experience in the specification, design, qualification and testing of process measurement components for nuclear power applications.
- Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.

Pay and Benefits:
The target pay range for this position is $108,908 - $131,441 annually. The full pay range is $97,642 - $152,722.
