Senior Project Officer

 

Location: Parramatta, Hybrid and Remote working arrangements considered Employment type: Temporary full-time role up to 30 June 2025 (Two positions available)

Salary: $120,859.00 pa - $133,183.00 pa, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

 

 

Your role

 

This role provides you with an exciting opportunity to use your skills and experience to drive the increased use of the Human Services Dataset to inform policy and program delivery in NSW and improve outcomes for children, young people and their families.  The Human Services Dataset brings together data from across government to take a powerful view of service usage and outcomes.

 

What you’ll do

 

As part of the Insights, Analysis and Research (FACSIAR) directorate, you will be is responsible for the day-to-day activities associated with the administration of the Human Services Dataset (HSDS) and ensure compliance with the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (NSW) and the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 (NSW).

 

As part of a small team reporting to the Manager:

 

  • Core responsibility will be to take carriage of, and process data access requests associated with the HSDS. You will:

 

    • Review data access applications against the Public Interest Directions for the HSDS, and provide feedback, guidance and support.
    • Respond to enquiries and resolve issues promptly and effectively.
    • Support timeliness and quality standards by all team members in a high volume and complex work environment.

 

  • Provide data and privacy governance oversight of the HSDS to support increased use, in line with the strategic priorities of the Stronger Communities Data Partnership
  • You will support the development, update and implementation of policies, practices, procedures and systems.
  • Collaborate with data partners and with key government service providers to deliver linkage, hosting and platform services in support of data maturity and analytic activities.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and supervision to Project Officers and Project Support Officers of the team. Provide ongoing supervision, guidance, support and coaching to increase staff capability.
  • Work collegially with other FACSIAR staff and key stakeholders in cross agency projects and joint governance activities.
  • Undertake additional tasks that may arise that require the Senior Project Officer’s involvement.

 

What we’re looking for

 

Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.

 

The successful candidate will be required to provide/obtain a valid Working With Children’s Check upon commencement.

 

We are looking for a motivated high performer who has:

 

  • Demonstrated strong requests management, customer service, stakeholder management and organisational skills
  • Good communications skills with the demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and clearly by phone and in writing. Ability to prepare high quality briefs and discussion papers
  • Good presentation skills and the demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across a range of stakeholders including other DCJ Divisions, state and Commonwealth agencies, academics/researchers and other organisations.
