South America-Based Contractor I Senior Analytics Engineer / Data Modeler

About the role

We are looking for an experienced data consultant with a data architecture and modeling background to work on diverse and challenging projects. Here, you will be involved in defining data strategies with prospective leads and working for existing clients’ data platform projects. This role is a hands-on role with data modeling activities involving client communication and stakeholder management. 

• Start Date: 27 of January 2024

• Contract duration: 1 year (Either B2B or through EOR), with the possibility of extending

• Daily Requirement: 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday

• Timezone: available to work Pacific Time Zone hours

• Location: Argentina or Chile

• Interview process: 1 technical round - 90 minutes

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate client business, process, systems and technology requirements during the initial phases and advise clients on best practices to help guide and solidify proposed designs;

• Help drive business development with the customer by finding new opportunities based on expanding existing solutions and/or creating new ones;

• Lead and/or contribute to the design and development of cloud-based data systems;

• Provide cloud data systems expertise for proposals and other business development efforts;

• Create physical and logical architecture solution roadmaps for linking services solutions with client business processes and technologies;

• Provide guidance in the implementation work, as well as mentorship for fellow project members.

• Consult with clients to assess current problem states, define desired future states, define solution architecture and make solutions recommendations;

• Work with Delivery Leads and Project Managers to define strategic plans for clients either for blueprint architectures or for improving existing data platforms.

• Participate in events, conferences, and meetups, and represent Infinite Lambda. 

Requirements

You need a minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role having led greenfields or large data platform migration projects. The following requirements are mandatory:

• Data Modeling:

  • Ability to pick the right data modeling technique (e.g Kimball, Data Vault, etc.) for the given use case, and the ability be part of the core data modeling activities ;

  • ​​Develop and design the conceptual and logical data model using data modeling software (SqlDBM, Erwin, Power Designer);

  • Lead requirements-gathering meetings with application teams, Database Administrators, and/or business partners to understand business needs;

• Ability to transform business-oriented goals into technical data architectures and plans of work;

• Ability to architect complex data warehouses and data platforms;

• Ability to consult and create proposals and project plans for new or existing clients; 

• Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with projects’ champions;

• Experience with cloud-based data architectures and modern data stack (Data platforms, e.g. Snowflake and Databricks,  BI Tools, e.g. PowerBI, Looker, dbt, data ingestions tools, e.g. Fivetran);

• Experience with defining mid/long-term data strategies that translate into actionable plans of work;
