Job Description

Project:

Acciona has been awarded the Design & Construct contract for the Singleton Bypass. This major project will see construction of 8km of single lane highway with approximately 2.5 km of bridge structures and upgrades to local intersections. This diverse and challenging project has a 2 year construction program ensuring longevity in your role and presenting opportunities to grow within the business.

About the Opportunity:
We are after an experienced Site Engineer, with good communication, and problem-solving abilities, remote working, self-motivating and working as part of a Team. The Site Engineer will provide direct engineering and technical support to the construction team that will contribute to the successful delivery of the Project and be responsible for ensuring that all work activities related to their scope are planned, coordinated and executed in accordance with the Project’s Engineering, Safety, Quality and Environmental procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily construction activities to ensure project milestones are achieved

  • Monitor and report the performance of the workforce and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to technical, program, quality, environmental, safety, and commercial standards

  • Attend design reviews and provide input on constructability, temporary works designs, safety, site access, and related issues.

  • Create, monitor, and control project schedules

  • Plan and implement site establishment activities, ensuring compliance with site-specific and contract requirements, including location, fencing, signage, environmental, and traffic conditions

  • Identify, analyze, and mitigate potential risks, maintaining a risk register and initiating corrective actions as needed

  • Manage changes to scope, deliverables, schedules, and budgets

  • Analyze variances, trends, risks, and opportunities, and highlight significant operational performance issues to management

  • Integrate environmental considerations into all construction activities

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field with relevant professional certifications

  • Prior experience working on major infrastructure projects

  • Proven experience in on-site engineering roles, demonstrating a strong understanding of construction processes

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills in dynamic construction environments

  • Effective communication skills to liaise with project stakeholders, teams, and regulatory authorities
