Job Summary
Provides administrative support to the SBA Agriculture President, handling tasks such as processing loan applications, preparing loan documents and general ledger tickets, and assisting with loan closings. Ensures excellent customer service throughout the loan process. Additional responsibilities include conducting annual term loan reviews, managing construction disbursement draws and inspections, tracking financial and tax returns, and monitoring the exception list to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Prepares loan-related documents, forms, and letters using templates, such as turndown letters, financial statements, release letters, and title transfer forms, while ensuring compliance with bank policies and procedures.
- Evaluates and proofs all setup sheets for accuracy and completeness prior to submission to Loan Processing.
- Schedules customer appointments and conducts loan closings. Prepares loan disbursement checks and provides all completed loan documents to loan administration promptly.
- Provides excellent customer service by answering customers' questions and concerns. Greets and directs all customers entering the area to their appropriate bank destination and assists with notarizing documents.
- Answers incoming phone calls to the department as needed.
- Provides walk-in loan customers with the correct application to suit their loan requests.
- Reviews applications for completeness and accuracy.
- Pulls credit reports on all applications and renewals.
- Creates and balances loan tickets from the setup sheet data.
- Proofreads new/renewed loan documentation and performs file maintenance on existing accounts.
- Reviews loan exception reports and loan-to-value reports. Provides needed documentation to clear exceptions and corresponds with customers on behalf of the Loan Officer.
- Assists the Loan Officer by reviewing past-due and maturing loans lists. Sends letters to past-due customers and prepares setup documents for renewals and closes renewed loans.
- Orders appraisals, title work, etc., to complete loan documentation.
- Coordinates with title companies and the mortgage operations division to schedule closings and provide necessary information.
- May prepare loan advances on draw loans and follow up on past-due loans.
- Conducts construction disbursement draws and inspections.
- Tracks financial and tax returns to ensure timely and accurate documentation.
- Monitors the exception list, addressing outstanding issues and ensuring compliance.
- Participates in a team effort to cross-sell other bank services and products.
- Maintains a high level of cooperation and rapport with all officers and employees.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
Education and Experience
- High School education or equivalent
- Minimum one years of experience in banking or lending
- Must have or receive NMLS clearance
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Must be knowledgeable of the different types of loans and loan documents including all commercial and agricultural loans
- Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines and work independently
- Requires great attention to detail, ability to recall, and good organizational skills.
- Strong customer relations skills and ability to communicate effective
- Ability to anticipate problems and use sound judgment, resourcefulness to resolve
- Strong computer skills including proficient with MS Office
