Job description

We are now seeking an experienced and results-driven Credit Manager with expertise in capital finance within the mining industry to lead the credit team in overseeing credit analysis, risk mitigation, and portfolio management. This position plays a pivotal role in protecting the company’s assets by evaluating the creditworthiness of current and potential lessees while driving operational excellence. The Credit Manager will develop and implement credit policies aligned with the company’s business strategy, manage credit risk exposure, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

[Job Overview]
Credit Management and Decision-Making:
  • Lead the credit team in reviewing and analyzing financial statements, market trends, and risk factors to assess creditworthiness for lease and loan financing for retail and floorplan customers.
  • Ensure comprehensive financial packet reviews, identify missing information, and coordinate with relevant departments to gather necessary documents.
  • Conduct detailed evaluations of customer and dealer inventory practices, turnover ratios, liquidity, collateral, and repayment terms in alignment with credit policies.
  • Render credit decisions within established authority limits and recommend approvals, denials, or modifications for higher-level review.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry and maintenance of credit and loan information in company databases.
  • Present comprehensive credit reports, findings, and recommendations to senior management.

Risk Mitigation and Portfolio Oversight:
  • Monitor the performance of existing floorplan and lease portfolios, identifying potential delinquencies or risks, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Oversee yearly portfolio reviews and ensure alignment with the organization’s risk tolerance and strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with sales, retail finance, and floor finance teams to streamline application processing and strengthen risk management practices.
Team Leadership and Stakeholder Communication:
  • Supervise and mentor the credit analysis team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding credit decisions and escalations.
  • Maintain open lines of communication across departments, providing updates on credit policies, progress, and emerging challenges.

Strategic Insights and Industry Research:
  • Stay informed of industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes, evaluating their impact on credit policies and procedures.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce risks.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Maintain professional conduct and adhere to company policies and high ethical standards.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by senior management.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent is preferred.
  • 6-8 years of experience in credit analysis or credit management, ideally within the industrial machinery or related industries.
  • Demonstrated experience managing high-value credit portfolios and leading credit teams.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, accounting principles, and credit policies.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling tools, credit scoring software (e.g., Equifax, PayNet), and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment in balancing risks and opportunities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, build relationships, and drive cross-functional collaboration.
  • Flexibility to adapt to evolving business needs and changing market conditions.
Language Proficiency:
  • Fluency in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
