What You'll Bring to Numerator

  • 2 to 4 years experience as a Product Owner
  • Strong oral and written communication skills - must be able to speak the technical language of engineers, as well as understand the needs of the business
  • Previous experience as a Product Owner or strong Agile / Scrum process understanding and ability to prioritize a large backlog of issues
  • Experience with agile management or product management software (JIRA preferred)
  • Basic or intermediate experience in SQL preferred
  • An understanding of consumer, retail, or eCommerce datasets at a granular level a nice to have.

The Product Owner for Data Extraction is responsible for maintaining a set of tools and algorithm for automating the extraction of data from purchase transactions. This role will work closely with the Product Manager to understand priorities and business value, and ensure that we are meeting the needs of our clients. The Product Owner will work closely with our data analysts to diagnose bugs and communicate to the Engineering team what the observed problems are. Here's what you'll be doing on a day to day basis:

  • Run standups, sprint planning, and refinement sessions for engineering and design teams
  • Maintain and prioritize a sprint backlog of tickets, leveraging your knowledge of the business to prioritize based on business needs
  • Work with Engineering and Product leads to drive quarterly planning sessions and set sprint priorities for the broader team
  • Work closely with the Product Managers to translate the product specifications into actionable steps for the development team
  • Manage resource allocation across different initiatives and work closely with engineering leaders to make sure that key engineering talent is efficiently allocated
  • Perform acceptance testing of features before release to ensure correct implementation
  • Utilize internal tools and SQL queries to fix historical data once production bug fixes are released
  • Work with Engineering and Product teams to update and maintain product documentation for new and existing features.
