Who We're Looking For

This position is responsible for performing a direct role in effectively resolving project-critical situations and for applying and contributing to recommendations for leading-edge technology on behalf of corporate needs. Works on very large scale, highly visible, strategic cybersecurity projects in an extremely complex and evolving technical business environment. Builds and defines applications and processes to support near and long-term competitive products and services. The Principal Security Engineer is an expert in their field contributing as an individual and/or directly managing a small team.

Some of What You'll Do

  • Designs, analyzes, and documents security principles across multiple project teams and applications to include the telecommunications ecosystem. Investigates and analyzes verbal and written requests for application security, interpreting application requirements to ensure security requirements are met based on industry standards (e.g., NIST, CIS, DISA, GSMA).
  • Develops and executes security test plans, analyzes test results, and makes appropriate revisions to ensure the applications function as specified.
  • Leads the planning for acceptance testing and implementation of new security framework components, performing supporting activities to ensure that less experienced staff have the information and assistance they need for a successful implementation.
  • Works with and in some instances provides work direction to our vendor partners
  • Researches, assesses and facilitates the adoption of new technologies
  • Creates a structure and design framework including security design; end-user environment; hardware, security and network environment; and methodologies and standards.
  • Architect security measures for SS7, Diameter, and other telecommunications protocols so to ensure compliance with GSMA requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct security assessments and vulnerability testing on telecommunication systems to ensure compliance with GSMA requirements.
  • Identify, develop, and deploy telecommunications monitoring capabilities.
  • Automate telecommunications network traffic analysis for security incidents, misconfigurations, or other items impacting confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the security of the telecommunications network infrastructure.
  • Stay updated on the latest security threats and trends in telecommunications by leveraging GSMA technical documents, industry leaders, and opensource resources.
  • Provide training and support to internal teams on telecommunications security best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Participate in incident response and forensic investigations as needed.
  • Function as a recognized expert in all the aforementioned areas.

Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge of multiple security frameworks
  • Expert knowledge of relevant operating systems and communication interfaces
  • Expert knowledge of security design and testing principles
  • Expert knowledge of log aggregation and event correlation strategies
  • Expert Knowledge In the telecommunications Industry
  • 10+ years of Cyber Security Engineering Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science or a related field
