Job description

What will you do in this role?  

 You provide analytical and operational support within the purchasing department, while working closely with the construction, accounting, and sales departments.  

  • Interact with trade partners by helping Purchasing Agent conduct buyouts for specific categories and communities 

  • Analyze purchase orders for direct construction and option costs 

  • Prepare and analyze pre-sale and pre-construction profit margins (tie-outs) by reviewing sales & options contracts 

  • Identify areas for profit margin improvement & communicate findings to stakeholders 

  • Review purchasing contracts/change orders 

  • Managing special projects as assigned 

  • Develop and implement efficient procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending process changes 

  • Answer financial questions by researching and interpreting cost/margin data 

  • Other tasks as assigned 

  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures  

 

You Have:  

  • 1-2 years’ experience in an office environment  

  • Advance knowledge of Excel   

  • Advanced computer skills  

  • Experience working in a team environment, and you really enjoy it 

  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate with internal and external customers 

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service 

  • Ability to hold oneself accountable and possesses a high degree of self-awareness 

 

You Might Also Have: 

 

  • BA/BS in Accounting/Finance/Business or related degree  

  • Experience in Purchasing 

  • Experience working independently while carrying out assignments based on instructions given  

  • Experience in the home building industry

Compensation 

Base Salary: $25.00 to $28.00 Hourly

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt 

Bonus Type: KPI qrtrly potential up to 10%
