Overview:
Cordoba Corporation, a leading engineering firm in CA, is hiring QA Materials Engineers transportation project, working in materials engineering and testing services The Assistant METS (Materials Engineering and Testing Services) Representative will support the Materials Engineering team in the planning, design, and implementation of transportation infrastructure projects. This role involves conducting materials testing, analysis, and reporting to ensure compliance with Caltrans standards and specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and reviews project plans, specifications, and estimates.
- Assist in the preparation and review of materials specifications and test procedures.
- Conduct field and laboratory tests on construction materials such as soil, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates.
- Analyze test data and prepare detailed reports on findings.
- Collaborate with project engineers and contractors to resolve materials-related issues.
- Ensure all materials used in construction meet Caltrans quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of materials testing and inspection activities.
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical support as needed.
- Stay updated with the latest industry standards and advancements in materials engineering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in materials engineering or a related field
- Knowledge of materials testing methods and equipment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant engineering software
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work in various field conditions, including construction sites
- Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment as needed
Salary Range: $75,000 - $135,000
Location: Sacramento, CA
Work Environment: Remote
Travel: Extensive travel may be required, including overnight stays and long-term assignments at different project sites
