Summary of Job Duties:
The Director of Student, Postgraduate and Faculty Engagement will partner with the Vice Chancellor for Academic Pathways and Workforce Partnerships (APWP) and campus stakeholders to design and implement signature programs and initiatives to strengthen faculty, postgraduate, and student recruitment engagement, success, and retention.
This is a grant funded position.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
Relevant terminal degree (PhD, EdD, etc) in health, public health, social sciences, biomedical or basic sciences or related field plus six (6) years of experience in program development, faculty development, Grant writing experience, developing curricula and training programs, developing program assessments and metrics, or developing student-centered programs.
Must have valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and valid auto insurance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Red-Cap, and Excel.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders; willingness to learn and apply new skills; commitment to excellence; ability to work in a team and independently; highly motivated; creative; critical thinking; resourceful; responsible; high level of integrity; collaborative; and problem-solving skills.
Experience in developing PowerPoint and other scientific presentations.
Experience in a medical school or academic medical center environment.

Responsibilities:
Student and Postgraduate Engagement and Retention
Provide leadership for student and postgraduate engagement initiatives and partner with Regional Programs and the colleges to create opportunities for faculty, trainees, and students to interact to build a stronger sense of community and support
Partner with academic and clinical units to expand postgraduate learning and career development opportunities.
Develop metrics to track and assess impact and effectiveness of engagement initiatives and impact on retention.
Faculty Engagement and Retention
Partner with the faculty center, colleges, the graduate school, and institutes to identify barriers to faculty engagement and collaboratively implement strategies to address those barriers.
In partnership with the faculty center, develop mentoring, career development, and support services for faculty experiencing barriers to success.
Collaborate with TRI, Research Division, Cancer Institute other research centers to develop programs and initiatives focused on career development, skills, and competency development of early-stage career investigators.
Identify and address policies and processes that adversely impact groups of faculty and potentially hinder engagement and success.
Develop metrics to track and assess impact and effectiveness of engagement initiatives and impact on retention.
Mentorship
Provide support and guidance for university committees focused on faculty and student engagement as well as student organizations focused on student engagement.
Develop mentoring programs and mentorship opportunities inside and outside of the university for those with expressed need for such resources.
Capacity Building
Identify extramural resources and assist in the development of proposals to expand programming aligned with the division.
Partner with community organization and campus units to identify resources to advance the mission of the division.
Other duties as assigned.
