Responsibilities:

OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY

 

Preps all records in the manner and order required, and scans all records into the optical Imaging System.  Forwards all scanned documents to the QC/Indexing area.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Health Information Services (H.I.S)

  1. Prepares all documents by removing staples, clips and sticky notes, perforating, copying, etc.
  2. Removes all cold documents from the paper record.
  3. Prepares all documents in reverse chronological order.
  4. Photocopies all damaged documents.
  5. Removes photographs and inserts appropriate form in record to be scanned. Files photograph according to department procedure.
  6. Identifies correct patient encounter information from MPI and applies to documents scanned.
  7. Scans all documents into the Optical Imaging System via the Kodak scanner.
  8. Assigns appropriate batch names in DCS to ensure proper identification of documents for review by QCI Technicians.
  9. Distributes finished documents to QCI area.
  10. Cleans scanner on a biweekly basis.

 

Customer Service

  1. Prepares all documents by removing staples, clips and sticky notes, perforating, copying, etc.
  2. Photocopies all damaged documents.
  3. Identifies correct patient encounter information from MPI and applies to documents scanned.
  4. Enters standard note codes in STAR Financials to identify the type of correspondence received.
  5. Scans all documents into the Optical Imaging System via the Bell & Howell scanner.
  6. Assigns appropriate batch names in DCS to ensure proper identification of documents for review by QCI Technicians.
  7. Distributes finished documents to QCI area.
  8. Cleans scanner on a daily basis.


**Work From Home Position after completed 90 day onboarding process.**

Qualifications:

Required:

  1. One (1) year of experience in record assembly/analysis or record prepping/scanning; OR two (2) years of clerical, customer service, or data entry experience with Windows, HBOC and other micro computer applications; OR two (2) years of general medical record experience in a medical record department.
  2. Excellent Analytical, Reading, Comprehension, and Communication skills.

Preferred:

  1. Three (3) years of experience with record assembly analysis.
  2. One (1) year of experience with imaging systems.
  3. One (1) year of experience working as a receptionist, in a mail room or in a medical records environment.
  4. Self-Starter and Basic Computer Skills.
Work Hours:: 7:00 AM - 3:45PM
