THE OPPORTUNITY
As a contractor with Riskonnect, you’ll play a key role in supporting our client’s Global Technology team in ensuring business continuity for critical global operations. In this role, you’ll work closely with our team of experienced Managed Services Consultants, benefiting from their expertise while supporting the client’s business continuity objectives. You’ll focus on identifying top operational risks, assisting in risk management for essential assets, and aligning the program with organizational goals to enhance resilience and operational stability.
You’ll contribute through tactical execution and technical expertise, from conducting risk assessments and guiding cross-functional teams to communicating effectively during interruptions. This role is ideal for a proactive individual with strong collaboration skills, capable of working with both internal and client teams to deliver comprehensive continuity solutions.
The candidate will have strong collaboration skills that help align the program with organizational objectives. The candidate will have the ability to conduct the tactical, day-to-day, projects as well as provide SME tech-based knowledge to the Project Lead for enabling functions globally.
The successful candidate will provide evidence that they have successfully navigated conversation and leadership decision making in which operational risk associated with global technology organizations are mitigated.
The successful candidate will:
• Conduct risk assessments; identify potential threats to the organization and evaluate their likelihood and impact; prioritize risks based on their severity and develop mitigation strategies accordingly
• Look above and beyond the business impact analysis to understand how the business continuity plan affects the organization, to include interdependencies and the system
• Effectively communicate to the business, business continuity leadership team, and peer organizations; engage with stakeholders at all levels; provide timely updates and guidance, in particular during a business interruption
• Leverage problem solving skills to assess and address issues while executing the business continuity process; make informed decisions and provide details reports to leadership teams to gain buy-in or generate decision making; execute with speed and scale
• Show effective leadership skills while engaging with cross-functional teams, inspire confidence and drive collaboration toward achieving business continuity, and the broader organization goals
• Proven track record to remain flexible and agile; adjust plans and strategies in response to evolving business impacts as well as organization or function changes; prepare research and remain up to date on industry trends and best practices to support proactive identification of organization vulnerabilities; self-starter with ability to work on multiple plans in different phases at the same time
• Understand IT systems, business application of critical systems, data security protocols, and disaster recovery technologies that enable a broad understanding of operational risks if the assets leveraging the tools are impacted
What this is not
• Disaster Recovery (managing IT systems outage, however facilitating the operational engagements between teams (i.e. which operations would be impacted, supporting the engagement between Governance, TRM, and cross-functional teams)
• Audit (we are not an auditing function; we work in partnership with the business and risk owners to strategize).
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience delivering risk management strategies and continuity plans for a global company, ideally with a tech-focused mindset
• Proficient in software as a system such as Fusion, Smartsheet, Riskonnect/Castellan, or similar platforms
• Leverage communication tools such as Slack,
• Ability to work at a tactical and strategic level dynamically and with agility
• CBCI, CBCP, or similar certification
• Bachelor’s degree in business, risk management, computer science, data and analytics, or similar; higher education preferred
• Team first mentality with energy and enthusiasm toward the company-wide maxims
