Solution Engineer Principal
Location: 1 Riverside Plaza, Columbus, OH 43215
Job Duties:
Design and develop Business Intelligence reporting solutions and data warehouse process models. Analyze, diagnose, and resolve technical issues relating to development of reporting solutions. Develop visualizations and dashboards using Cognos, Power BI, and DOMO. Implement data blending to blend related data from different data sources. Perform data analysis of reports and debug reports with database teams. Design, develop, and install advanced software solutions while considering usage, architecture, functionality, and deployment. Build high-quality, innovative, and fully performing software in compliance with internal architecture, development, and design standards and best practices. Design, modify, develop, write, implement, and troubleshoot software programming applications. Support and install software applications and lead the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing, and certification of software. Remote (where AEP has presence) work from home policy applies.
Salary range: $121,139 to $150,755 annually
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field and 7 years of experience in designing and developing BI reporting solutions that includes at least 5 years of the following:
- Designing and developing BI intelligence utilities financial reporting solutions using Cognos, Power BI, and at least 2 years with DOMO.
- Cognos and Power BI frameworks, semantic layers, reports, dashboards, data modules, and data sets for business intelligence.
- Developing data warehouse process models including sourcing loading transformation and extraction.
- Optimizing performance of complex queries and business intelligence reporting.
- Transforming self-service business intelligence reporting in Power BI, Cognos, Tableau and DOMO into enterprise scale solutions in Power BI or Cognos.
- At least 2 years of leveraging Alteryx workflows for data preparation and translating them into enterprise ETL tool (Informatica) processes.
