ERP Finance Assistant

Focus is looking for a highly motivated individual to act as an ERP Finance Assistant to our Director of HR/Payroll Products for districts preparing to go through the implementation of Focus’ ERP software. The ERP Finance Assistant will be responsible for coordinating with the client and director to ensure milestones are met and will be expected to manage a variety of tasks to ensure a successful and smooth implementation of our ERP product while collaborating with multiple teams to resolve any issues as they arise. 

Expected Education and Experience:

  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree or a year of experience in a similar position within software, finance or a technology-related industry
  • Background in an educational setting and extensive knowledge of school finance (AP, AR, payroll, asset management, HR, etc.) is strongly preferred
  • Focus moves fast. You will be expected to hit the ground running, and perform self-start training

Job Duties:

  • Includes extensive travel up to 30%, will attend most district visits 
  • Planner/organizer who understands what our ERP and finance products offer and how they work to assist administrators and staff meet a variety of needs
  • A self-starter with insight into company objectives and project’s needs, implementing strategies, taking on extra tasks, etc. to meet/exceed those objectives and needs 
  • Demonstrates solid character, integrity, and business ethics 
  • Reports research and all updates to the Director
  • Comfortable with simultaneous projects – large, small, and sometimes unplanned – while assisting Director
  • Comfortable going to the necessary lengths to meet quality standards, priorities, and every deadline
  • Communicates the workloads of all project staff to the project manager and Director
  • Can quickly assess the quality of submitted work, effectively editing and fine-tuning documents, and offering positive feedback for staff revisions.
  • Conveys updates from conversations/meetings, whether written or oral, and coordinates communication in writing to all necessary parties.
  • Responsible for minutes of all meetings
  • Responsible for presentations on the project plan and updates 
  • Coordinates phone conferences, recording/finalizing notes for project manager’s and staff’s planning records 

Skills:

  • Must have excellent written/grammatical skills, extensive writing involved.
  • Must have excellent oral communication, including informative, persuasive, and colloquial speaking skills. Extensive group presenting involved.
  • Must have excellent “people skills,” a natural leader with ability to motivate, resolve conflict, and keep the team’s morale high 
  • Works well under pressure and deadlines
  • Excellent at making smart decisions to meet company standards and projects’ priorities in detailed, evolving project plans
  • Makes attention to fine details their personal priority 
  • Versatility with Office and Mac computers
