Senior Technical Upgrade Manager
Omnicell has an exciting opportunity on our Infrastructure Services team for a Senior Technical Upgrade Manager. Individuals in this role manage and implement software releases for our existing customer systems and additional onboarding for our customers to Omnicell Cloud products. The Senior Technical Upgrade Manager must have a strong knowledge of enterprise software implementation processes and is comfortable leading IT and IT Security discussions related to the implementation needs. You will manage all technical aspects of the project and communications throughout the life of the project. Other responsibilities include: managing revenue, timelines, resources, expectations, and milestones for Omnicell products and solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Be able to manage complex technical project delivery for 30+ upgrade projects from pre-work to go-live as a single point of contact.
- Provide Professional Services with go-live dates and timelines of upgrade projects to assist with forecasting for revenue projects; provide weekly updates to ensure forecast remains accurate.
- Deliver high level overviews of Omnicell products and solutions and conduct presentations with C-level executives.
- Schedule and conduct discussions with customer IT and IT Security to receive IT project support as well as IT Security approval.
- Communicate with the customer to make sure all understand the project requirements, provide avenues for education, project documentation and successfully support the customer through testing and successful completion of the customer project.
- Recommend and implement best practices and assist with customer’s development of standard operation procedures.
- Be able to communicate and manage issues relating to the project from the customer and various Omnicell departments during testing or later as part of the project delivery through transition to Technical Support.
- Keep Omnicell’s Planview, C4C database, SAP, and JIRA updated with information about the projects and their current status.
- Develop, maintain, and properly store customer requirements and acceptance records.
- Continually update project document with active and completed accounts.
- Evaluate and monitor active projects for customer satisfaction.
- Develop and provide technical architecture assessments and upgrade recommendations for customer review.
- Act as a team leader contributing to the development of other team members.
- Attend and contribute to product cross-functional core team meetings.
- Demonstrate analytical skills and product knowledge to research complex issues. Provide issues and appropriate feedback (root cause, customer implication, customer response) to quality and product teams.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Solid understanding of medication procurement/distribution processes in a health care setting and knows how to lead pharmacy workflow discussions.
- Solid understanding of analytics and a strong informatics background.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate, influence and gain commitment at all levels of an organization to successfully deliver completed enterprise software projects.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills, able to plan and lead structured meetings.
- Excellent problem solving, organization, and time management skills.
- Exceptional project management skills and knowledge of change management processes
- Healthcare industry knowledge
- Knowledge of health care organizations IT Security and IT PMO common practices
- Wide product-based knowledge, strong base in OmniCenter, cabinet upgrades, interfacing and databases
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Able to quickly learn new software and functionality of new products.
- Ability to work collaboratively and enjoy working in a fast-paced technical environment.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Project, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in complex project management within a Health Care or I/T environment
- Minimum 2 years of experience with enterprise software systems
- Bachelor’s degree in related field OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Knowledge And Skills
- Experience with Healthcare Interface Standards such as HL7 (Health Level 7) and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act)
- Knowledge of computer networking and relational database systems.
- Hospital Materials and pharmacy management
- Hospital administration, nursing and/or information systems experience
- Understanding of inter-system communication methods (e.g., HTTP, TCP/IP, FTP, RS-232, and network drive mapping using various protocols)
- Knowledge of Windows server (2016/2019/2022) applications and tools
- Knowledge of Lynx
- Master’s or Advanced Degree
- Project Management (PMP) Certification
- Lean/Six Sigma certification

- Business hours may need to be adjusted to accommodate the customer.
- 10% travel
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk/pace; use hands to handle equipment or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
