Bowman and Brooke LLP, is a national defense law firm defending product liability, consumer warranty and lemon law, commercial, and other complex litigation cases.  Due to significant growth at our Firm, we are looking for Litigation Paralegals with product liability, consumer warranty and lemon law litigation experience to join our thriving team in our Philadelphia, Pennsylvania office. 

Our paralegals are integral to our case teams and appreciated for their ideas and contributions. We offer a casual, fun, and collaborative office environment with excellent opportunities for mentorship. This position is hybrid, allowing for a balance of work-from-home and in-office workdays. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare, edit, and proofread a variety of documents (correspondence, agreements, discovery, and pleadings).
  • Work with attorneys to keep litigation advancing in each case; including taking the initiative to regularly update team members on the status of cases and quickly alerting attorneys to important client and case needs.
  • Assist attorneys with discovery, including discovery requests, depositions, and document production. Ability to Bates-stamp, redact, and prepare documents for production.
  • Assist with document review, summary, and analysis through various platforms.
  • Assist with preparation and service of FOIA requests and subpoenas requesting documents and testimony.Manage electronic case files using a document management system (iManage) to ensure information is organized and easy to locate.
  • Prepare for mediations, arbitrations, client meetings, trial (including compiling trial materials, coordinating witnesses, preparing and managing exhibits, attending trial).

Qualifications:

  • Meticulous, diligent, personable, and highly motivated
  • Ability to anticipate next steps and exercise independent judgment to make sound decisions
  • Comfortable with learning new technology and processes
  • Ability to travel nationwide to attend trial (if needed)
  • Familiarity with client billing guidelines
  • Experience recording billable hours and writing effective time entries
  • Experience with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat Suite and Sharefile

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree, Paralegal Certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • 2+ years’ litigation experience in a law firm setting preferred
  • Defense product liability, consumer warranty and lemon law litigation experience preferred
