Position Overview

As an SAP MDG Principal Consultant, you will be responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and management of SAP MDG solutions. You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure that master data governance processes are effectively implemented, maintained, and optimized within the SAP system. You will be involved in gathering business requirements, configuring SAP MDG modules, and working with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity and compliance across various enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Requirement Gathering: Work with business users to collect and analyze requirements related to master data governance and data quality processes.
• Solution Design: Design and configure SAP MDG solutions tailored to business requirements. Develop and maintain functional specifications, data models, and workflows for master data management.
• Implementation & Integration: Lead or participate in the full implementation cycle of SAP MDG, including integration with SAP ECC, S/4HANA, and other third-party systems. Support the testing and deployment of the solution.
• Data Quality Management: Develop strategies for data governance, ensuring that master data is accurate, complete, and consistent. Implement and configure data validation rules and processes.
• System Configuration: Configure MDG applications and workflows, including master data types (such as material, vendor, customer, finance) and governance processes within the SAP landscape.
• Troubleshooting & Support: Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for MDG-related issues. Resolve incidents and system performance problems, ensuring system stability and availability.
• Training & Documentation: Develop user training materials and conduct workshops to ensure end-users are familiar with SAP MDG functionalities. Maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and data management policies.
• Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate project progress, issues, and risks to project managers and other stakeholders. Collaborate with business and IT teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Continuous Improvement: Recommend improvements to existing data governance processes and tools. Stay updated on new SAP MDG features, best practices, and industry trends.
• Travel to client sites up to 80% of the time.
  
  

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience:
• 3+ years of experience in SAP MDG, with a strong understanding of master data management concepts.
• Proven experience in configuring and implementing SAP MDG solutions, especially in areas like customer, vendor, material, and finance master data.
• Experience working with SAP S/4HANA and integration with SAP ECC and other systems.
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of SAP MDG modules, workflows, and data governance tools.
• Familiarity with SAP Data Services, SAP PI/PO, and SAP Fiori is a plus.
• Knowledge of SAP GTS, SAP BW, and other data-related SAP solutions is advantageous.
• Proficiency in data modeling, business process mapping, and reporting.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with business and technical teams effectively.
• Certifications: SAP certifications in MDG or related modules (e.g., SAP S/4HANA) are a plus.
• Project Management: Experience in SAP project management or Agile methodologies is a plus.
  

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with cloud-based data management solutions and integration with SAP systems.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to master data governance (e.g., GDPR, SOX compliance).
• Experience in other SAP modules (like SAP MM, SAP SD, SAP FI) that integrate with MDG.
