Context


We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Legal Counsel to provide legal advice and support across the Alpha Group, with particular focus on North American operations. Alpha is a fast-evolving business and the role provides opportunity for development and growth as the business continues to expand in terms of size, services and geographies.


The Legal Counsel will be part of our Legal and Corporate Affairs Team and will receive mentoring from a senior individual. Alpha’s operations team operates globally and includes Finance, HR, Recruitment, Risk, Legal & Corporate Affairs, IT and Business Support roles. The objective of the team is to set minimum group standards, oversee the day-to-day business of Alpha and to facilitate the coordination, efficiency and alignment across the Group’s processes and people.


Role Specifics


The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Provide support to the business in respect of contractual relationships with new and existing clients, including drafting and negotiating MSAs, terms and conditions of engagement, SOWs, NDAs and sub-contract arrangements
  • Drafting and maintaining template documentation across Alpha’s business units
  • Reviewing and negotiating supplier contracts
  • Instructing and working with external counsel both in the US and globally
  • Reviewing and assisting in the implementation and maintenance of group policies to ensure compliance and management of risk
  • Supporting on corporate matters, data privacy, intellectual property, trademarks, employment and dispute resolution.
  • The Legal Counsel will work alongside key operational stakeholders, in particular:

-Operations management

-Risk

-IT and infrastructure

-HR

-Finance


Job Requirements


You will ideally have:

  • JD
  • 2-6 years PQE (guide only) with proven in-house experience preferably within a relevant industry (for example, professional services or financial services)
  • Background in contract negotiation and with complex agreements
  • Strong business focus and ability to successfully manage multiple senior external and internal relationships
  • First-class communication, presentation and problem-solving skills and displaying gravitas by communicating with confidence, influence and authority
  • Track record of developing excellent stakeholder relationships
  • Focus on team achievement and not just individual goals
  • Be comfortable working in a fast-moving corporate environment


Location

US – with work either from one of Alpha’s US hub locations and remotely/from home, as required.


Basis

5 days per week – however, we would be happy to hear from candidates that require a different, flexible work pattern (a minimum of 4 days)

There are a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to - skill sets, experience and training, and licensure and certifications. A reasonable estimate of the salary range is $130,000 to $170,000 USD subject to change based on salary benchmarking. In addition to this salary, candidates will be eligible for a variable bonus.
