Sr Accountant- Temp with Possibility of Permanent Placement

Job Summary

This position is responsible for preparing and analyzing various company financial records and executing a variety of financial procedures.

Primary Responsibilities

• Prepare complex monthly closing journal entries, accruals, prepaids and other entries
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, potential issues and provide insight
• Review general ledger accounts and prepare adjusting journal entries
• Prepare complex balance sheet reconciliations, rollforwards and adhoc analysis
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
• Assist with year-end audit as required
• Prepare and file monthly sales tax in Avalara
• Assist with preparation of state and federal income taxes across all entities
• Research and respond to tax notices in a timely manner
• Administer and uphold all the Company’s values, policies and procedures
• Continuously work towards the Company’s goal and vision
• Complete projects start to finish with limited supervision.
• Perform other duties as assigned
  
  

ADDITONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and document business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Stay updated on accounting regulations and ensure compliance with relevant laws and standards
  
  

EDUCATION AND TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 7+ years of accounting experience with strong general ledger background
• Solid understanding of journal entries and preparing schedules
• CPA preferred
• Experience with financial reporting requirements
• Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP
• Advanced in MS Excel
