Job description

Overview

Administrative support person for Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s centralized anticoagulation clinic. Works with clinic leaders and team members to support the daily operations of the anticoagulation clinic.

This is a Part Time benefitted remote position. Monday-Friday 1pm-5pm.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the clinical care of our anticoagulation patients. Schedules patient appointments and enters internal and external INR values into the EMR.
  • Manages administrative calendars for all team members as it relates to anticoagulation management.
  • Manages daily workflow within the EMR anticoagulation schedule for all team members.
  • Leads daily huddles to support workflow efficiencies.
  • Coordinates new patient and home monitor patient enrollments, prepares patient introduction packets, and helps introduces patients to the anticoagulation clinic.
  • Manages and reengages patients lost to anticoagulation management care.
  • Responsible for incoming calls to the anticoagulation clinic. Answers, screens, and directs phone calls, provides program information, direction to outside partners, and relays clinical information to patients accordingly to coordinate the care of our patients.
  • Helps to create team meeting agendas, takes meeting minutes, distributes the minutes to the team, and follows-up on action items.
  • Helps manage and prepare regular reports on program activity.
  • Works with department leadership to develop and maintain efficient office procedures relative to the delivery of quality anticoagulation care, as well as day-to-day administrative activities.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree with 1 year of administrative support experience, or the equivalent in education and experience required.
  • Proven experience working with the public required.
  • Previous experience working in a medical setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology may be required.
  • Experience with computer applications required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to take initiative, make decisions, and act autonomously required.
  • Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple requests at once required.
  • Must be comfortable with new program development.
