Koniag Technology Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Service Monitoring Specialist to support KTS and our government customer. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust. This is a Remote opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage monitoring solutions using Science Logic to monitor infrastructure, servers, applications, and services.
  • Configure, customize and fine-tune monitoring checks and rules to meet specific monitoring requirements.
  • Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability, identifying and addressing any issues or anomalies proactively.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define monitoring standards and best practices.
  • Work closely with IT operations teams to identify and resolve monitoring-related incidents and problems.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including monitoring configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in the monitoring space, particularly in relation to Science Logic.

Qualifications

  • Solid knowledge on Linux OS's administration and configuration.
  • Strong expertise in Science Logic, with demonstrable experience in designing, implementing, and managing Science Logic monitoring solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, databases, and applications.
  • Proficient in configuring and customizing monitoring checks, rules, and notifications within Science Logic.
  • Experience with integrating Science Logic with other monitoring tools and systems.
  • Solid understanding of ITIL processes, particularly incident, problem, and change management.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex systems and identify root causes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Plugin/Extension development knowledge/experience are a plus.
  • Experienced with Python, Bash, Perl, Powershell are also a plus.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust

Working Environment & Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
