Our mission to transform lives is made possible by talented people who bring diverse industry experience, backgrounds and skills to the university. And today, we're ready to expand our reach. All we need is you.

The opportunity

At SNHU, you'll have the option to work remotely in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

Southern New Hampshire University is seeking student employees to fill the role of College Admissions Workshop Tutor for Schoolhouse.world. At Schoolhouse.world and the Coalition for College, they believe every student deserves support in achieving their college dreams. Our partnership focuses on reaching students from communities traditionally underrepresented in higher education. Be part of our mission to create more equitable pathways to college success. As a College Admissions Workshop Tutor, you’ll lead virtual, structured workshops (with flexible scheduling based on your availability!) for up to 15 high school students. We offer comprehensive, paid training and easy-to-follow workshop plans and materials so that you have all the support you need to succeed in the role. You’ll develop valuable leadership and teaching skills while providing crucial support many students couldn’t otherwise access.

About the Position:

Choose from three engaging workshop series:
The Application: 2 weeks, four 60-minute sessions

  • Help students navigate the application
  • Guide students through key application components

The Essay: 4 weeks, eight 75-minute sessions

  • Support students in brainstorming and drafting personal statements
  • Help with supplemental essays and storytelling

Finding Your Fit: 4 weeks, eight 75-minute sessions

  • Guide students in building balanced college lists
  • Help students understand what they're looking for in a college

Flexible Scheduling Options

Mix and match any workshops to create your ideal schedule and maximize your federal work-study dollars. Here are some popular combinations:

  • Light Load (2-3 hours/week): Run one workshop at a time
  • Medium Load (4-5 hours/week): Run 2 workshops simultaneously (e.g., two Essay workshops) or alternate between workshops (e.g., one Application workshop followed by one Finding Your Fit)
  • Heavy Load (10-12 hours/week): Run 4 workshops (e.g., two Essay workshops + two Application workshops) or mix all three types (e.g., Essay + Application + two Finding Your Fit)
